1. Where can I access the shoreline and beaches of Lake Arrowhead? There are two private beaches of special note around Lake Arrowhead, Tavern Bay and Burnt Mill. These beaches also provide access to the ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association) trail that meanders around the perimeter of the lake. You will find Tavern Bay Beach and Beach Club on the north side of the Lake. Take highway 173 and turn onto Willow Creek Road and proceed past the UCLA Conference Center to the bay. On the south side of the lake, you will find Burnt Mill Beach and Beach Club, which is located to the far left of the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa off Lake Edge Road (Highway 189) and Lake Resort Road. See the information page for details. When you Map Quest a location in the mountains, most mapping programs have difficulty locating a specific address and so if you need help call or e-mail and detailed directions to your destination will be given to you. Remember, Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and access to its beaches, beach clubs, and ALA trail will most likely require a beach club card that we will provide and so don't leave home without it! 2. What amenities do the beach clubs offer? Tavern Bay Beach Club: Sandy beach, large roped off swim area, swing set & play equipment, restrooms, parking, picnic tables, some shade, and snack bar. There are a limited number of lounge chairs if you are early. It can get windy but this is a great beach on hot days. Burnt Mill Beach Club:sandy beach, roped off swim area, swing set play equipment, restrooms parking very close to the beach area picnic tables, shade trees, and an attendant who can sell you snacks from a refrigerator. There are a limited numjber of lounge chairs if your are early. On a cool day, this is a warmer beach and less windy than Tabern Bay. See photos on the information page. 3. Can we bring our own boat? No, only boats registered to homeowners may be used on Lake Arrowhead, including kayaks. However, soft inflatable boats and rafts can be brought and used. No jet skis are permitted at all on Lake Arrowhead. 4. What makes Lake Arrowhead different from Big Bear?
5. Where can we take our jet skis and boat? You can jet ski and boat on Silverwood Lake (about 20 minutes away) or Big Bear Lake (about an hour away). 6. Can we rent a boat on Lake Arrowhead? Yes!
7. My pets are well-behaved, can we please bring them? At this time, we do not allow any pets, no exceptions. This was a difficult decision, but too many of our guests told us that they could not stay in our home if we allowed pets. We have a dear friend who is a vet at Lake Arrowhead Animal Hospital in Blue Jay who will board your pet if you desire. We may have a pet-friendly home in the future and as available, but currently this is not the case. Please, do not sneak your perfect pet into our home, as this will certainly raise allergy issues for our future guests.
